Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by exploring the civil rights history of the Río Grande Valley with Dr. Stephanie Alvarez of Museo 956 at McAllen Public Library.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with an engaging presentation on Rio Grande Valley civil rights history and the movement for social change, presented by Dr. Stephanie Alvarez, Co-Founder of Museo 956 and Professor of Mexican American Studies. Engage in a conversation on how histories of racial violence and colonialism shape the Río Grande Valley and the people and movements that stood & stand up to demand civil rights and social change for Mexican Americans. Join us for an evening of local history, community, and conversation.
