AuditoriumA local documentary uncovering why the Rio Grande Valley was called “The Magic Valley,” and the hidden cost to Tejano ranchers.
Join us for a documentary with Gene De La Garza titled, “The King and His Magic Valley,” where the origins behind the RGV's nickname, “The Magic Valley,” will be explored. Through five years of research, the film uncovers how a booming citrus empire in the 1920s reshaped the region, at times at the expense of Tejano ranchers whose stories have long been overlooked.
