Julie Kagawa discusses "Fateless," "Lightningborn," and her fantasy writing journey.
Julie Kagawa, author of nearly 30 fantasy novels for teens and tweens, brings two new worlds to life in “Fateless” and “Lightningborn.”
In “Fateless,” Sparrow is sent on a dangerous mission into a ruined city ruled by long-dead kings. What starts as a job quickly becomes a fight for survival as ancient powers awaken and fate refuses to let go.
In “Lightningborn,” Remy finds a baby dragon after a deadly storm, while Gem, a mage-in-training, uncovers a secret that could save their crumbling world. When their paths cross, they must team up to face a powerful enemy—and protect the one creature who might hold the key to everything.
Hear Julie talk about her writing journey, the characters that keep her up at night, and what it takes to build magic from the ground up.
Following the session, the author will be signing books in the Computer Lab from 1:00–2:00PM. Book sales will be handled by our exclusive bookseller, The Storybook Garden.
