Gume Laurel III, author of "The Brujos of Borderland High," will talk at the South Texas Book Festival about his latest novel, which chronicles a brujo teen's heartbreak and otherworldly trials.

Gume, a Rio Grande Valley native, will discuss his work and the importance of representing underrepresented communities, particularly those from Latine and queer backgrounds.
